

COURSE DESCRIPTION AND EQUIPMENT
Course Description:
Basic to intermediate level course focused on the science of precision shooting, firearm manipulation and body positioning, as well as moving and shooting techniques for the purposes of effectively defending yourself while employing a carbine.

Course Overview:

Setting up the carbine to biomechanically suit the individual shooter

Biomechanically efficient body and carbine positioning

Understanding of ballistics and hold-overs for the 5.56 cartridge at distances up to 500 yards

Zeroing iron sights and / or red dot (this is not a scoped carbine course)

Establishing a multi-range zero

Natural point of aim development
-
Fundamentals of movement with a carbine

Firing from concealment and cover
-
Firing from positions
-
Speed and administrative reloading techniques
-
Malfunction clearing
-
Transitions from carbine to handgun
-
Manipulating and running the gun on the move

Firing from positions associated with defensive carbine engagements

Multiple target engagement work
-
Both paper and steel plate targets are utilized
